Congo
In the region of Tuidi Madiata, Congo DRC, there is no governmental infrastructure - no clean water, no electricity, and no roads during the rainy season - and because of this remoteness, it is an unreached people group (UPG).
JLM has partnered with a Congolese couple from this region who are empowering women, educating children and spreading the gospel, to reach this and other unreached areas of Congo.
Evangelism
To reach the village of Tuidi Matata and the more than 200 villages surrounding it, the initial strategy is to target children and youth, and through them, to reach their families. They have held children’s outreaches the past 2 summers, reaching more than 1000 young people who had never heard the gospel.
They plan to identify and train local leaders to start ongoing house churches. They expect to thus establish a church planting movement that will impact the entire region, with a central church in Tuidi Madiata. They already have a large plot of land including a resource center available for this purpose.
Aid
Pastor Rose and her husband have also been bringing much-needed help to this isolated and poor region of the country:
clean water systems
medical supplies and reading glasses
school supplies
food distribution
conferences on the educational and social concerns of women and children
They have plans for more projects as well, such as:
creating sustainable food systems - orchards, community fruit tree nurseries, agriculture (beans, peanut, cassava and pineapples), fish farming, and apiculture
building a hospital
starting an orphanage
providing a community center
