Tanzania: Bible Translation
30 for Jordan’s 30th
This campaign is funding a Bible translation project in Tanzania, translating and supplying Bibles to the very tribe Jordan and his team reached only a month before his cancer diagnosis.
Now, through your partnership, for the first time these tribes will read God’s word in their native language. What was started by Jordan’s outreach can now be finished by us!
Over 1 billion people live in Bible poverty, meaning they have no Bible verses in their languages. Of the 6,300 languages that exist today, about half have little to no scripture. This is the moment we get to change this for one large tribe that holds a special place in our hearts because of Jordan’s initial evangelism there.
For this exciting Bible translation project for the Rungwa-Katavi tribes, we are partnering with IllumiNations.Bible. They are a seasoned team of experts and scholars whose mission is to eradicate Bible poverty worldwide by 2033.
Here is the financial breakdown for this project:
$30 will translate a verse
$300 translates 10 verses
$3,000 translates several chapters
$30,000 translates the Gospel of Luke and Ephesians
Our overall goal is $300,000 which will translate the ENTIRE New Testament and more for this language group.
By the end of 2021 Illuminations.Bible has set a goal to make our first bible delivery. What a moment that will be as they hold the living Scriptures in their hands for the first time!
